CAMPING
Why not make a weekend of it? The organisers are not responsible for campers, but any teams wanting to camp can do so at Scout Park. Please contact/book the campsite through the website http://scoutpark.co.uk/.
Note: Explorers camping without leaders will need to complete an event passport (available from your leader).

FURTHER INFORMATION
Teams should aim to arrive at the Centre by 8.45am for registration where there will be a briefing and safety talk before the teams travel into London (see safety guidelines below).

Teams should be made up of 4-6 Explorers/Scouts over the age of 12. A leader may accompany a team but there will be a per leader penalty (handicap) applied to the final score.

All team members must as a minimum wear their explorer, scout or district scarf. Points will be deducted for each team member not wearing their scarf on departure or return. As this is a Scouting activity we expect all participants to act in accordance with Scout Rules, Law and Promise.

Teams are to return to “GO” at Scout Park between 16:30 and 18:30. Teams returning outside these hours will incur penalties.

The cost of £3.50 per person does not include the cost of travel cards, transport to and from Scout Park, food, camp fees or any other cost incurred during the competition.

Each team will need to bring a digital camera (with spare batteries) with a common memory card (so we can download), a couple of mobiles (for emergency use), and travelcards (zones 1-3) for everyone. It is also recommended that teams bring a map of London and of the Underground.

Travel in London is either on foot or by public transport. Use of cars, bikes, or taxis is not permitted.

Any team or team member retiring before the conclusion of the event must notify the organisers immediately.

Points will be awarded for visiting each of the locations and answering questions. As well as the penalties mentioned above, penalties may be incurred for breaking any of the rules, or partaking in any action not deemed to be in the spirit of the competition.

Safety

Each team member will be issued with an information sheet showing emergency contact numbers.

Teams must stay together at all times. It can get extremely crowded in central London so in the event of separation return to the point where you know everyone was together. If you still can’t find the rest of your team use the emergency number to contact an organiser.

Traffic in London is very busy so use underpasses and designated crossings wherever possible. Many roads are one-way so always remember to look left and right before crossing roads.

In the event of an incident or accident the team must inform the organisers on the emergency number at the earliest opportunity.

Look after your possessions and make sure any bags or pockets are secure. When using your camera or mobile phone be conscious of those around you.
